That alone spells out elegance. Add to that the flowing design a la Ming dynasty and you get a superb stand for a goldfish bowl, or, if you prefer to keep it vegetarian, for a vase or a planter.
While the style is Chinese and Oriental, take note that it would look good in any upscale room, and can mix in with an eclectic collection of other pieces. Casual it is not, though, and requires some formality around it to fit in properly. So, think Oriental, but think Chinese Emperors rather than peasants.
